Humanitarian Response

Disaster is not an exception. It is part of the year.

Bangladesh does not experience disasters as exceptions. Flooding, riverbank erosion and severe winter cold are annual, and they fall hardest on households with no savings to absorb them.

When the water rises or winter arrives, a household without savings has little room to absorb the shock. Basic food, warm clothing and other essentials can quickly become out of reach.

+
GFTH's response is designed around direct distribution, local coordination and a clear record of what reaches each community.
When a disaster disrupts everyday life, support has to reach people where they are.

How GFTH Responds
Humanitarian Response · 04 / 06

A response built around reach, coordination and record.

The response model
GFTH works with local administration to coordinate distribution, avoid duplication and reach households that formal lists may miss. Every distribution is documented from what was given to where it went.
01
Identify
Understand where disruption is greatest and where households may be missing from existing formal lists.
02
Coordinate
Work with local administration to coordinate the response and reduce duplication with other relief efforts.
03
Deliver
Distribute food and essential supplies during floods, and blankets and warm clothing during severe winter cold.
04
Document
Record what was given, where it was distributed, how many households were reached and the cost per package.

Direct response

Relief should reach people, not just reports.

GFTH's humanitarian response is designed to move essential support directly into affected communities, with the distribution recorded afterwards.
